When you work in ESH’s Mathematics Department, you will be part of a multicultural team consisting of 16 passionate teachers in four language departments. About the Role

  • As a Teacher of Mathematics, you will:
  • Deliver engaging mathematics lessons, in German, to students aged 11-18, following the European Baccalaureate curriculum.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment where every student’s talent is nurtured.
  • Collaborate with a team of passionate educators to support a thriving maths programme.
  • Assess students’ progress through formative and summative evaluations, including coursework, class assessments and written exams.
  • Attend and participate in departmental meetings, professional development sessions, and European School-related training.

What We’re Looking For

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mathematics or closely related fields (First-degree/Eerste graads) and full teaching qualification for Secondary Education (recognised by the Dutch Education Authorities).
  • Excellent German (C2 level).
  • Ability to speak good English for daily communication. Part of the interview will be in English.
  • Experience teaching in international or intercultural settings is desirable.
  • A creative, inclusive approach to teaching and a willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities.
  • The possibility to teach other subjects, such as physics, chemistry or biology, is possible for a suitable candidate, but is not an essential requirement for this role.
  • The possibility to teach classes in English, French or Dutch is possible for a suitable candidate, but is not an essential requirement for this role.
