Musiklehrer/in für unser IB Diploma und Middle Years Program

Wir suchen eine/n enthusiastischen und visionären Musiklehrer/in mit Erfahrung ab dem 01.08.2020.

Qualifikation und Erfahrung:

Wir suchen eine/n Musiklehrer/in mit Universitätsabschluss.

Mindestens 2 Jahre Lehrerfahrung sowie deutsche und englische Sprachkenntnisse auf muttersprachlichem Niveau.

Bevorzugt werden BewerberInnen, die folgende Erfahrungen mitbringen:

  • Erfahrung in IB DP und MYP Musik
  • Erfahrung in der Entwicklung von Musik-/Drama Shows
  • Erfahrung im Aufbau eines Chors und Orchesters
  • Masterabschluss
  • Erfahrung im Umgang mit ICT für den Unterricht, Verwaltungszwecke, einschliesslich interaktiver Whiteboards, Google Apps usw.

Curriculum:

  • Lead the curriculum development process and work in partnership with the Secondary Principal, all MYP teachers, Community and Service Coordinator, Personal Project Coordinator, Heads of   
  • Department in Secondary School as well as the DP and PYP Coordinators.
  • Ensure that teachers and students have a clear understanding of Areas of Interaction and Approaches to Learning

Documentation and Organization

  • Ensure that copies of IBO publications pertaining to the MYP section of the school are available to all staff members. (in both electronic and hard copy)
  • Serve as liaison person to the IBO on MYP matters.
  • Facilitate the visits of IB representatives for MYP matters.
  • Serve as a resource to Subject Department Heads and teachers.
  • Assist the Secondary School Principal in identifying resource needs for the MYP.
Professional development:

  • Plan for and coordinate the IB MYP Professional Development activities for staff.
  • Ensures that staff members are made aware of professional development opportunities.
  • Make recommendations regarding professional development opportunities on and off campus.
  • Keep a record of workshop attendance and school visits to ensure equality of opportunity and identify ongoing needs.
  • Act as a mentor and critical friend to ensure that all teachers are on path of continuous professional development.
  • Ensure all relevant staff is kept up to date with IB publications and requirements.
  • Lead the orientation of new teachers into the MYP.
Communication:

  • Set up systems for communication and collaboration among MYP staff members involved in implementing the programme.
  • Parents:
  • Conduct parent information sessions on MYP and assessment criteria
  • Organizes a parent evening to ensure parents are well informed.
  • Supplies any required documentation or media support.
  • Circulate all relevant information received from the IBO.
  • Prepare and submit any documentation required for authorization and evaluation.
  • Ensure that all requirements of the IBO concerning the implementation of the programme are adhered to.
  • Respond to requests for information (for example, questionnaires) from the IBO.
  • Provide a liaison between the school and the IBO.
  • Provide outreach to the wider MYP community through OCC discussion forums, e-mail and school visits.
  • Promote the use of the OCC within the school community.
  • Establish/maintain links with other MYP schools in the region.
Students

  • Ensure students have a clear understanding of the aims, requirements, and standards of the MYP programme as early as grade 5.
  • Together with Secondary Principals and DP Coordinator, contribute to subject choice offerings.
  • Supervise students’ choice of subjects.
  • Act as a mentor and critical friend to ensure students meet deadlines and are on a path of continuous improvement.

Resource management

  • Assist the principal and make recommendations for the purchase of suitable resources to support the implementation of the programme.

Teaching:

  • A maximum of 20 periods per week according to the relevant teaching qualification.

Other Duties

  • Any other administration or teaching duties deemed necessary by the head of school.
