Montessori & Friends Education gGmbH is an innovative educational institution that runs several children’s centres, the International Bilingual Montessori Primary School and its own Montessori Academy. These facilities create nurturing learning environments for children based on the educational philosophy of Maria Montessori. At the primary school, 130 children learn in mixed-age groups on the grade-levels 1-6. The historic school building is situated in an idyllic location not far from Lake Wannsee. The opening of a secondary school on the same site is planned for the 2026/27 academic year. The school’s aim is to promote self-directed learning and support the holistic development of the children. Another key focus of the school is bilingual education. Around half of the pupils come from English-speaking or bilingual homes and are taught bilingually from grade 1 in both German and English.

Your Responsibilities

As a teacher, you will guide a maximum of 24 students in mixed-age learning groups (grades 1-3) and provide them with individualized support. You will be actively supported by a co-teacher. You will teach all standard elementary school subjects exclusively in English and work according to the principles of Montessori pedagogy. A trusting partnership with parents is just as important as your own creative freedom.

This opportunity is for you if

• you have a teaching qualification recognised in the Federal State of Berlin, such as a Master of Education, a German 2. Staatsexamen für die Grundschule/Sekundarstufe I, a foreign teaching degree, or (N)QTS.
• you have already gained experience teaching English at the primary school level,
• you have a Montessori diploma or practical Montessori experience, and the willingness to earn a Montessori diploma while working at the school,
• you have a minimum of a C1 level in English and a minimum of a B1 level in German,
• you enjoy working in a team and cooperating closely with parents and caregivers.
